In September 2008, John and Paula Warden and Rudy and Gloria Vrana met together to read God's word and pray for God's direction in starting a new church. Why is this important? Anything you start needs to begin with prayer and God's word. Philippians 4:13.
God answered that prayer through Robert and Annette Hill. They had also been praying for God to use their barn on County Road 307 for his glory.
October 2008, New Hope Baptist Church (The Barn Church) was founded with 23 members. John Warden would be the pastor, in the hands of God, led by the Holy Spirit and guided by God's word...without a salary. We saw God at work with salvations and baptisms. Baptisms were done in a swimming pool in warmer weather and a cattle trough inside the barn in cold weather (which was still pretty brisk even inside).
In 2012 New Hope purchased 5 acres of land on County Road 305. God provided the money and the land was clear. In 2013 a new building had been constructed with no debt. We had many materials and labor donated, often by church members. We began meeting in the new building in 2013, while finishing work on the inside fellowship hall area, as God provided the funds.
On June 28, 2014, our pastor, John Warden went to be with his Lord and Savior. Since that time, we have been blessed with memorial contributions, to pave the parking lot, do some landscaping, and add onto the back of the building for future growth.
February 21, 2016, the Lord answered our prayers and called Kevin Ross to be our new pastor. His wife Laura and their daughter Kayla joined him in this endeavor.
